Once Upon a Time, a Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far, Far Away… (Well, England, anyway…)

Shane Poole was listening to the Twin Peaks Podcast and got the crazy idea to do a similar “introcast” about Red Dwarf, the classic BBC sci-fi comedy. He recruited his Scottish friend and fellow Red Dwarf fan, Sarah McKeown to help. Meanwhile, Heath and Angela Fowler, a loving, geeky couple from the American South were listening to PotentialCast (a Buffy the Vampire Slayer introcast and possibly the first ever introcast) and thought it might be fun to experience a new show by being newbies on an introcast.

Thus, The Red Dwarf Introcast was born. (Well, there was this short-lived incident in which the show started out by accidentally using the same name as a well-established fan group, but that’s neither here nor there…) Eventually, Sarah decided to leave the podcast, and Paul Yorke stepped in. Since the second season, Heath, Angela, Shane, and Paul have welcomed dozens of special guests as they experience (or re-experience) Red Dwarf, episode by episode, reviewing each one and offering their thoughts, insights, and hilarious (well, they think so, anyway) commentary.

As for this website, Heath put together the design and created the main podcast logo (with the spaceman). The super cool banner was created as a gift from Nutty Nuchtchas (nimlas.org).
